Agenda

The experience begins with a welcome, introduction and briefing on circuit driving techniques, followed by instructor-driven passenger (the number of laps varies depending on the circuit - Please note at Silverstone passenger laps are not included). Next comes the main event - approximately 6 miles in one of the following cars:

Aston Martin Vantage at Oxfordshire or Elvington
Aston Martin DB9 or Aston Martin AMV8 at Warwickshire or Prestwold Hall
Aston Martin Vantage at Kenilworth
V8 Vantage at Three Sisters, Donington Park or Rockingham
Aston Martin V8 Vantage at Silverstone.

At the end of the experience you will be presented with an individual driving certificate.

Notes

Your voucher is valid for 10 months. Availability at Warwickshire is limited from March to November. This voucher may be used on weekdays only at Silverstone. Drivers shorter than 5’0” or taller than 6’4” and/or weighing more than 16 stone may have some difficulty being accommodated. Participants must be 18 or over and must have a full UK driving licence which they have held for at least a year. To do this experience at Silverstone you must be 21 and have held your licence for three years. Please enquire when booking about any spectators you may wish to bring with you. The person driving the car will be required to sign a disclaimer accepting liability in the event of damage being caused to the car through their negligence. At most locations, you will have the choice of buying an optional collision damage waiver for an additional charge of approximately £25 per car. Please ask the operator when booking for further details if required. All dates are subject to availability.

It was always a wish that one day I would own an Aston Martin; alas it was looking like this would never come true. I was given the gift to drive to have a driving experience and I jumped at the chance to drive an Aston. This came true, and I drove a great Aston at Three Sisters racing track, Wigan, April 2011. The time at the track was well arranged with the track drying having rained early morning. At 54 having never driver on a track before I passed two Ferrari a Porsche and two mini coopers S, no one came close to passing me. What a great time, I would recommend it to all to have a go. Don’t worry the trained driver shows you the racing line and where to brake etc.

Far too short! You just get used to the car and it is time to come in!! Strongly recommend doing six laps, always.

I turned up at the Rockingham track as I had heard good things about it from search on the net. On the day there was a lot of people queueing for the cars, of which there was a large choice. After a full but interesting briefing, we had the 2 lap familiarisation in the Mini Cooper S's. Being driven by a professional driver at speed and shown how to do it we then went to await the vehicles to come free. There was a lot of people there but fortunately I wasn't queueing for long, before I was behind the wheel. As there was a problem with one of the Aston Martins I had chosen to drive, we were offered another vehicle which was very nice of them. I then had my 6 laps which I can honestly say was the best 6 minutes or so of my life (even though it was only 6 laps, it was so intense and so much to think about and focus on that it felt a lot longer). The instructor Toby was simply BRILLIANT and drove me to the level which he thought I could handle. All in all a great day, and even my gorgeous girlfriend who came along to spectate (and take photos!) was catered for and kept amused with their very own briefing. All in all a definite recommendation for anyone and I hope to receive many more in future birthday cards! Now to figure out a way to get back and try the R8, which I was told I MUST drive.
